UNITED STATES

Born on the 4th July, yes. Endeed, I was born on the Independence day. I always felt I somehow did not belong to my country because my vision was very progressist and independent and I had a very strong enterprising attitude like US mindset. I told myself one day I will make it to USA and I will celebrate my birthday over there.  Actually I didn’t ever push myself too hard to reach USA. I happened naturally while reaching New Zealand. My first stop was San Francisco that welcomed me with a friendship. I met a girl from Los Angeles who was overwhelmed with her life and used to trip by herself to San Francisco to excape the madness of the city of the Angels. We had sourdough bread and breakfast at Boudin Bakery, than we walked around  Pier 39 then we head to Ghirardelli Square and finally we crossed the Golden Bridge. We ended looking all the city form Coil Tower and we took the traditional cable car to reach Union Square and enjoy the Christmas light. USA welcomed me again to celebrate my 30th birthday in New York City. On my birthday I started the day said hello to the Statue of Liberty on a cruise, then I was invited by my New Yorkers friends to have dinner at the Oculus before heading to DUMBO and enjoy the fireworks to celebrate the day. It was lovely to blow out the candles at Washington Square Park with the Empire State in the background. I really have to say I never felt alone in New York since people reminded me of Neapolitan people: they are very honest, friendly upfront and generous. It was amazing to live for sometimes in Manhattan not far from Harlem. Thanks to the insights of my friends I discovered a lot of secrets gems of NYC. The stylish coffee shops in SOHO, Highline Park and the Vessel, Central Station and Crysler Skyscreaper (my favorite one). I enjoyed so much having Shake Shack burger at Madison Square Park with my friends, I felt emotional reaching Little Italy because I felt all the poverty of my people who left the South of Italy to find fortune in the new continent. I will never forget Coney Island and that Saturday morning dancing salsa on the wharf with Puerto Rican People.
